Telemetry should prove adoption without exposing people.
This is a binding commitment to every PortalKinetic user. It is not a terms-of-service document. It is a promise.
PortalKinetic was built by an overloaded founder for overloaded professionals. We have lived the experience of systems that collected personal patterns and used them against people. This document exists because we refuse to become one of those systems.
You can delete specific data without deleting your whole PortalKinetic account. This matches the “Manage app data” option shown on Google Play.

Article I
Your behavioral data, cognitive patterns, task history, focus logs, and any other information generated through your use of PortalKinetic belongs to you — not to PortalKinetic, not to your employer, and not to any third party.
We are stewards of your data, not owners of it. We hold it in trust, on your behalf, for the sole purpose of making your experience better.
Article II
You have the right to access a complete, human-readable summary of every data point PortalKinetic holds about you — at any time, without fees, without delays, and without needing to contact support.
Your My Data dashboard is always one click away. We will never collect data in the background that is not visible to you in that dashboard. If we cannot explain what a data point means in plain English, we will not collect it.
Article III
PortalKinetic operates on three explicit, separately consented data tiers. You choose your tier at onboarding and can change it at any time in Settings.
Your data is used exclusively to improve your PortalKinetic experience. Nothing leaves your account. No aggregation, no comparison, no benchmarking.
You allow your fully anonymised, non-identifiable patterns to contribute to aggregate workplace insights. You cannot be identified from this data. Employers and enterprise clients see only population-level trends, never individual profiles.
You voluntarily join IRB-approved research panels studying overload, attention, and work-context patterns. Participation is separately compensated. Opting out has zero impact on your PortalKinetic experience.
Changing your tier takes effect immediately. Downgrading your tier deletes all previously contributed data from aggregate systems within 30 days.
Article IV
If your organisation provides PortalKinetic through an enterprise agreement, your employer receives only anonymous, aggregate data — never individual-level insights. Your manager cannot see your focus scores, task-start patterns, reset activity, or any other personal signal.
This is not a policy preference. It is a technical constraint enforced at the infrastructure level. No administrative override exists. No enterprise contract can purchase individual visibility. This wall does not bend.
Article V
PortalKinetic will never sell your personal data to advertisers, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, data brokers, or any third party for commercial gain. Full stop.
If this policy ever changes, you will be notified 90 days in advance, your data will be frozen in its current state, and you will have the right to export and delete everything before the change takes effect.
Article VI
You can export your complete data in JSON or CSV from My Data at any time. You can delete your account immediately in Settings → Danger Zone (web or mobile). You can delete stored health/wearable samples without deleting your account.
After full account deletion, PortalKinetic removes your personal profile and auth user. Anonymised aggregate contributions under Tier 2 or Tier 3 cannot be un-anonymised and therefore cannot be retroactively deleted from population models — but your individual identity is never recoverable from them.
Article VII
Personal cognitive and work-pattern data is sensitive data — full stop. We protect it with encryption at rest and in transit, strict access controls, annual third-party security audits, and zero tolerance for internal misuse.
Any PortalKinetic employee who accesses personal user data without documented, user-consented justification is subject to immediate termination and legal action.
Article VIII
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, you will be notified within 48 hours — not the 72-hour legal standard, not a buried email three weeks later.
You will receive a plain-language explanation of what was accessed, what risk it poses to you, and exactly what we are doing to fix it. You will never learn about a PortalKinetic security incident from a news article before hearing it from us.
Article IX
PortalKinetic does not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If a minor's data is inadvertently collected, it is deleted immediately upon discovery.
No minor's data is ever used in aggregate models, research panels, or enterprise benchmarking under any circumstance.
Article X
The PortalKinetic Data Bill of Rights is not marketing copy. Violations of Articles I through IX by PortalKinetic entitle affected users to account credits, data remediation, and where applicable, legal recourse consistent with applicable privacy law including the CCPA and any superseding federal standard.
We publish an annual transparency report disclosing data request counts, security incidents, and tier distribution across our user base.
